Subject: authtype sspi
hi, did anyone set up the dokuwiki to have athtype sspi and recognize the users automatically from the windows server? I am having a hard time setting it up.
I had to move and upgrade an old wiki from one server to another. On the old server it was set up to authtype SSPI and have the users log in automatically based on the computer they were logged in to the network.
any help is appreciated.
thank you.

can anyone please help with this issue?

I was assigned to move the existing dokuwiki from one server to another and then upgrade it.
The old dokuwiki was a very old version 2005 I believe. It was installed on Apache 1.x and php4. It was configured to use sspi.php authorization type. The users were added to the ACL file and they created namespaces inside the dokuwiki to create groups in ACl and give users access to those groups.
After I upgraded the dokuwiki to 2008 and installed it on Apache 2.2.x and php 5, I realized that SSPI is no longer supported in 2008. The auth types were changed to classes and SSPI is not even mentioned in the dokuwiki website anymore.
My supervisor wants to configure the new wiki as the old one. I played around with other auth types supported in the new dokuwiki, but I was unable to find one that does the same thing as the SSPI. I also changed the old sspi.php file to a class, just by rename it to sspi.class.php and just including all the functions inside the file within a class. It is still not working right. I have my apache config file to include the SSPI. When I set the ACL to 0 inside the local.php file to 0, I can see my name at the bottom of the page to be my login name from the system. However I don’t think the dokuwiki works to validate me as a user from the ACL file.
Do you think you can help at all? Do you have any suggestions?
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I've never heard of SSPI and it was never an official auth backend. Based on the old code you have it shouldn't bee too hard to write a auth class for it.

If you lack the skills or ressources to write a new backend I suggest hiring a consultant. See http://www.wikimatrix.org/consultants/dokuwiki/-/- for contacts.

thank you for your reply.
I am not sure I follow you...
I have this code in my old wiki that is the sspi.php and it has the email address of Andi at splitbrain. That is why I emailed you (I believe it was you.). If this was never official, how did the person who set up our old wiki got it??
did you distribute it to some people? was there ever release somehow??
I am just wondering how did the guy who set up our old wiki got the sspi.php and it has your email on it?
Can you please reply to my question?
Thank you very much.

He probably modified some code written by me and forgot to remove my name.
