Subject: What's wrong with the latest release?

I used to be a happy user of DokuWiki. I just installed the latest release and I don't even see how to create a new page. I have playground and wiki namespaces. How do I create the Start page? Is there a Best Practices guide for the new release?

It's the same like with any other DokuWiki release bofore, see http://wiki.splitbrain.org/wiki:faq:addpages

Previous wiki releases had different layout. There were several links on the left side of the page and there were "edit this page", "discussion" and "subscribe to changes" tab links at the top. I don't see any of this in the latest release. It just has a flat page structure. Where did "subscribe to changes" and "discussion" tab links go?

This sounds like you're not using the default template (the default template has no discussion tab)?! How did you upgrade, did you forget to install the template you've used?

No, they had no different layout! The default template of all known releases to this date looked nearly exactly like the wiki on http://wiki.splitbrain.org does (eg. there was never a sidebar or a discussion tab and "subscribe to changes" was always at the bottom).
Maybe you had another template installed and somehow unintentionally changed the template option (http://wiki.splitbrain.org/wiki:config#template)!?
