Subject: looking for template with scrollable sidebar and multiple windows
I'm looking for a template in which the left and right sidebar are implemented as frames, or are implemented so that they can be scrolled independently of the content window and their sizes adjusted by the end-user (by dragging a scrollbar). I know that frames have gone out of favor, but the default (ugly) frame functionality is exactly what I'm looking for.
I'd also be interested in being to open a page in a new window, and in particular to edit a page in a new window. Being able to have several pages open for editing at once would be wonderful (but might be complex)
Bottom line, I want a template that causes the wiki to behave like a standalone application (perhaps like outlook) with action buttons always in the same place, a scrollable index at the top or side, and content in a fixed location.
I tried simply adjusting the CSS to get the scrollbar for the sidebar, but the only way I could get this to work was by imposing an absolute height on the sidebar. This would work for me, sitting at my computer, with the windows sized just so, but it probably wouldn't work for anyone else. I've tried both Firefox and Safari, and the "height" of the outermost element (for which "height: 80%" is calculated against) seems to be infinite.
