Subject: Wikimatrix-like comparison tables in dokuwiki
I just installed dokuwiki to serve as a documentation repository at the place where I work.
I want to create a fairly large comparison table and i'm finding a lot of limitations in the included table syntax.

It seems like the same thing happened to Dokuwikis comparison table (http://wiki.splitbrain.org/wiki:compare) and they decided to migrate it to http://www.wikimatrix.org.

I don't want all that fancy checklist thing that allows you to select the ones you want to compare (but if it is possible it would also be nice), I just want to be able to write several lines of text into each cell, and to edit each choice separately (as opposed to the regular syntax that after a few columns becomes quite hard to understand).

So....
Is it possible to integrate a table like the one used in wikimatrix in a regular dokuwiki site? how?

Thanks in advance

WikiMatrix is a custom developed database application. The comparison table has nothing to do with DokuWiki, except that it is linked with a DokuWiki install to document additional info.

You may want to have a look at the available Table plugins.

I already looked at the table plugins, but I think they can't do what I need (or maybe I haven't read enough)

Some of the features im looking for are:
- Rowspan
- Defining cells width
- Creating newlines inside a cell

I think i'll have to go the raw html way, but that will leave me as the only maintainer of that table which is exactly what i was trying to avoid :-S (not to mention that it goes against the very purpose of having a wiki).

Thanks a lot for your reply

I just found this, which seems to take care of the rowspan problem.

I'll give it a try and tell you how it went.
