Hello,
i am woking with dokuwiki for some time now and i am wondering, how modular it really is;
the data in the install directory seems to be structured pretty good and reasonable.
So:
is it possible, in order to fill a new wiki with data, to copy the data directory of another one?
the "new" dokuwiki install has no acl restrictions set, etc. basically, it is a "fresh" install.
Would this be possible?
Thanks for the answers and have a nice day :-)

Yes, just copying the whole data directory will make the data instantly available in your new wiki. In fact, if you don't need the history etc. it would suffice to only copy the data/pages and data/media directory, DokuWiki will automatically re-generate the missing meta data and the search index after a while (i.e. once you visit a page).

Wow, thanks for the answer!
I knew dokuwiki was great, but this is....
well, that's another way to upgrade for me ^^ (I don't mind having to configure it again, that only takes 5 minutes...)
I'll do it right away. Thanks again.
