Subject: [SOLVED] upload of avi not possible
Hi,
I have read the instruction to add mime-types and several forum-topics.

I created a file called mime.local.conf in the dokuwiki/conf folder.

The content is
mp3     !audio/mpeg
avi     !video/x-msvideo
mpg     !video/mpeg
mpeg    !video/mpeg

But still the message "Upload denied. This file extension is forbidden!" is coming up. Do I have to include the mime.local.conf file anywhere or is it done automatically?

I have read that there are some plugins for videos, but I only want to be able to download them. And at least it is said "create the mime.local.conf and add avi before proceeding".

May someone help me or give me a hint what I can do? Other files are working very fine. And even if I add those lines to the mime.conf videos are still forbidden. The extensions are exactly the right one, including casesensitivity.

By the way: why are videos not saved IN a powerpoint-presentation??? That`s the only reason why I need this download-function. Time to change the presentation-program.

avi     !video/x-msvideo
Remove the "!" then you are able to upload avi files.

Perhaps you can select a checkbox to save the video file in the powerpoint-presentation. I think OpenOffice - Impress provides this feature.

I have already tried that before, but it did not work. I tried it once again some seconds ago, but still "Upload denied. This file extension is forbidden!" comes up.

Open Office may be an alternative, but I have seen often problems with formulas.

Maybe I should mention, that I changed the upload size via .htaccess by adding:
php_value upload_max_filesize 150M
php_value post_max_size 150M

The first testvideo is 15 MB large, the second whoch I tried 1.5 MB. Both of them avi. I get the same result for mp3-files: Upload denied.

The installation was done 3 days ago, complete new, but I copied an old data-folder.

The config looks good. It should work. Make sure you're using real spaces or tabs (and not some strange unicode chars that look likes psaces but aren't). If nothing works try to insert the lines into the existing mime.conf file.

Ok, I edited the file with notepad. Nothing changed. I have already tried to put the lines into the mime.conf, but maybe there was the problem with unicode-stuff.

At least it was much easier!

Sorry for all the questions, but the file-permissions were wrong. They were set to 640 instead of 644. Grrr....

But thanks for your help.
