Is it possible to sort pages into categories?

I just installed DokuWiki and it works perfectly. I'll be using it as a small private database of philosophical thought. It would be wonderful if a page like "Derrida" could fall into such different categories as "Jewish Philosphy" and "French Philosophers". Is there any way to accomplish this with DokuWiki?

DokuWiki does not implement MediaWiki-style categories. You can pretty much emulate the behaviour by using the tag and indexmenu plugins as described here[1].

In short, tag pages as the categories that you want to have and create a namespace tree to follow the nesting-of-categories feature MediaWiki has.
