HI all,
I have a small issue in Dokuwiki. The server it runs on was a virtual machine and for some reason the date was the year 2031 :) This wasnt an issue but the date has now decided to go back to a normal one (don't know how). So, the server is now in 2010. Thing is, I cannot update any pages now unless I put the date forward to 2031 again as it thinks the existing pages are newer. Any idea if I can do something fancy to take 20 years off the edit date on the existing pages? I can simply put the server date forward to 2031 again but i'm a bit worried i'll be playing date pingpong.
Or, any other ideas?
Thanks all
Iain

Actually. Changing the date didn't help. If I change a page it is saved in the 'edit' but never shows on the saved page. I tried a different browser in case the page was cached, but same behaviour. Help much appreciated!

Hi,
There are two solutions I can think of:
1) Try deleting the content in data/cache/, edit the configuration files in conf/ (just open + save to reset the last modification time) and you should probably reinstall DokuWiki (as if you were updating) - at least if DokuWiki was installed in 2031. There will also be some caching problems (like the caches won't be used) - a part of that should be solved by reinstalling DokuWiki, the other part can be solved be editing every page in the Wiki.
2) If you know how to recursively touch all files to reset the last modification time to now (a find dokuwikidir -exec touch '{}' \; should do it) - that should solve the problems, too, though there might be some problems with the history of pages as DokuWiki will be irritated when the last modification time of these files change) - that should solve your problems, too.

Thanks for the reply. I will try this and let you know how I get on.
I got around the immediate problem but restoring from a backup with the 2031 files and resetting the date on the server back to 2031! Ugly but worked. Will try get it back to normal time as it is clearly a bit of a botched job!
Thanks a lot for your reply though. Much appreciated
