I'm using dw to support an engineering app. The wiki contains all the relevant information for tasks and standard processes, such as sanding, painting.
Thus for each user of the app, I set up under 'pages/users' a user directory, named after the user_id, and under the user directory a project directory, named after the project_id, and under the project directory a series of directories such 'ED' for engineering documents, 'PO' for purchase order information etc.
For example then an engineering document might be found at: users:1:projects:1:ED:ed00001(.txt) for user 1, project 1.
When I create an account for a user, my first thought is to copy the directory tree for each user, so users:2:projects:5.. users:3:projects:5 etc (projects are sequential, not 1..n for each user, but 1..n across the system.)
Next I want to write an ACL entry for the newly created user directory, giving access to them, and only them, + admin.
Afterwards I want users to be able to create additional project trees..
Then I read about xml-rpc, cant find anything about ACL programmatic updates, tried to get a farm working, went back to the approach I outlined, and have now reached the total documentation saturation stage, am up against a deadline, and would really appreciate some pointers. Might there be a plugin that I'm not finding to do just this?
Cheers, and thanks!
