Hi,
We recently "discovered" dokuwiki, liked it, and are thinking about using it for documentation and user manuals.
What we would like to use is a collapsible treelike menu in a sidebar, that would contain all the documents' and table of contents for each, and reflect the status of a currently open page. Ideally this TOC should also stay in a fixed position and not scroll with the content. Here is an example of a similar UI which uses Confluence wiki
https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/Asterisk+1.8+Documentation
We have partially implemented this via combination of sidebar panel, nstoc plugin, userstyle.css, etc but I am afraid that being new to dokuwiki we are reinventing what was already done by others. There are many tree implementations in Javascript (like jsTree?) that could work, but would require integration - and we don't know what is the prescribed way to do that. Ideally we would like to avoid an entirely custom solution, use what's available or if we have to build it further have it standard enough so that we could contribute it back.
Does anyone know of anything we could use for this purpose, or point us in the right direction?
Thanks,
Alex
