Hello,
Both the default and the starter templates will put blank lines above and below things like lists or code blocks that are not in the source text. How can I avoid those blank lines or may be specify a different spacing? To me, the blank lines interfere with the structure of the text because they make lists etc. look like separate paragraphs. If a paragraph ends in a list, I'd like to mark that with a blank line below the list in the source text.
Thanks, Malte

In conf/userstyle.css (create it when not yet existing) you can modify the css to your wishes.
The whitespace is due to the margin of the <ul> element.
The whitespaces after a list that is the end of a paragraph uses the same whitespace, sofar i have seen. So experiment a bit, and you will know if it fits you.

Thanks for your suggestions. Unfortunately, I have never written any CSS before. I guess I'll postpone this a little while :-)
