Hello everyone :)
I am running the last version of DW (Release 2014-09-29a "Hrun"). I have been using DW for several years now and I am generally very happy with it. Our wiki has many pages and most of the time it is accessed from the LAN (mostly gigabit ethernet clients). The hardware is a Synology ds1812+ (Dual-core Intel Atom D2700 2.13GHz, 3GB RAM, Dual Gigabit Ethernet IEEE 802.3ad dynamic link aggregation).
However, I have a couple pages that are much "larger" than the others and these take
FOREVER (minutes) to load, which is a major concern for the users.
I know that in both cases I could make the pages load instantly by displaying links to files rather than displaying the data directly (see below). However, again, the users would find this option very inconvenient i.e. having to DL the files each time they want to look at the data...
- The 1st "large" page contains multiple tables that are easily editable through the dtable plugin (
https://www.dokuwiki.org/plugin:dtable). The text file corresponding to this page is
180kB.
- The 2nd "large" page contains only 1 link to a CSV file (located in the media manager) that is automatically displayed as a table through the CSV plugin (
https://www.dokuwiki.org/plugin:csv). The corresponding csv file is
1.7MB and gets a little larger with time (I update it on a monthly basis)
I was wondering what I could do to reduce the time it takes for these pages to load.
- Is there something I could do about the configuration of DW? cache-related or something? Use different plugins?
- Is there something I could do on the hardware side? Upgrade the server? CPU? RAM? SSDs? According to the monitors/logs, it doesn't seem like the hardware is an issue (at least for CPU/RAM/Network)...
Thank you very much in advance for your input.
Best,
