Hello,
I hope this is the right place to ask.
I am creating a dokuwiki for a project at uni. There is an area for staff and one for students. Staff doesn't want students to see the staff-pages. So I could put them manually into groups. But it would be very useful if they could be automatically placed into the right group.
I had a look at LDAP for auth, but the uni won’t give me access to that. SAML doesn’t seem to work at the shared hosting I got to use (even simpleSAMLphp doesn’t).
The people already got mails that end @staff.uni or @students.uni, so is there a way in dokuwiki to use these credentials to put them automatically into a group?
I am not a programmer, but can do a bit of php. So is there a way to change 'defaultgroup' so it looks at the mail and puts people with
person1@staff.uni into the staff-group?
Or is there a way to put a php-page in between after they clicked on register, where they could choose between being staff or student and then send them to a different register-page?
I used the search but was not able to find something like that. So maybe I missed something, but if so, I hope you can point me into the right direction.
P.S.:
It sound a bit like the To-do here (
https://www.dokuwiki.org/plugin:groupmanager):
• A support-plugin for groupmanager, that runs a script creating the setup for a basic working group taking its arguments from a form (somebody?).
• Let users request to join a group, and let group admins accept/reject join requests.
