My focus is in quality systems and document management systems. I find the greatest advantage that DW holds over other Wikis is its (1) complete and total revision control along with (2) complete revision history with diff.
Now... let's suppose that you have multiple people collaborating on a single topic...(speaking from an ISO 9001 document control perspective). You can install the "TabInclude" plugin (
https://www.dokuwiki.org/plugin:tabinclude) and have it compile multiple pages maintained by separate individuals - into a master page (the one with the tabs). For example, a single tabbed page with a "Bill of Materials" (BOM) page (created by Engineering), a "Assembly" page (created by a Production Engineer), an "Inspection" page (created by a Quality Engineer), and a "Shipping" page (created by the Logistics function).
In a different example, suppose you have a "Work Instruction" where the "Safety Engineer" needs to include the safety precautions to be taken by workers. You can install the "Include" plugin (
https://www.dokuwiki.org/plugin:include) and use it to "pull" either an entire page OR a portion of a page, maintained by the Safety Engineer, into only the "Safety" section of the Work Instruction.
I'm not sure whether this is what you were seeking... but your question was ambiguous. And the above a two examples of how DW can be used to facilitate a collaborative effort.
