Moin all,
am I right, that drafts are saved the second I start editing a page, even if I don't make changes to it?
If yes, is there any way, to make it only save drafts when there are actual changes?
Is there maybe some plugin hook one could attach to?
Thanks in advance,
Flo

Drafts are saved every 30 seconds but only when you type. Drafts are also changed when previewing. Drafts are deleted on save. I don't see what you'd want to change there.

1. What exactly is considered typing? Changing the content of the textarea or also only navigating inside it?
2. Maybe I confused that feature with the question dialog if I really want to close the tab while editing.
I would love to take a look at the code (not because I consider it a bug, but to understand and maybe change the behaviour locally for me). Where does the code for 1. and 2. reside?

1. typing = keystroke
2. if you accept to close the editing window the draft is discarded. If the browser crashes it is preserved as of the last save.
These matters are run through the onbeforeunload event.

Thanks. Found it in edit.js.
There is says:
$editform.change(checkfunc);
$editform.keydown(checkfunc);
Why is there a check for both? Wouldn't "change" be enough?
