There was a much older thread on this topic... BUT the question still remains.
Is there Dokuwiki syntax to add extra spaces (white space)?
If you want to include an extra space in a sentence (or add separation between text and an image) hitting the space bar won't work.
Advice on the old thread included using the <code> </code> syntax or <file> </file> syntax, but that just adds carriage returns (sometimes with grey boxes - depending upon the template used) instead of white space.
The old thread DID suggest editing the "conf/entities.conf" file (
https://www.dokuwiki.org/entities). The example that Andi gives to add white space is: \_ to
And that works fine. HOWEVER, when training... what do I tell "newbies" who ask this question (and have no clue about how to edit the "conf/entities.conf" file)?
IF the answer to the first question is No... then would it be a good idea for Andi to add " \_ to " to the default "conf/entities.conf" file?
