I am just starting to write my wiki. I've been experimenting with different settings, plugins, and templates. Some templates didn't work ... they threw a PHP error. In order to access the wiki again, I deleted the template directory. I also reinstalled dokuwiki.
Now, every time I change pages, I get the "Preview is loading" message. It eventually goes away, and the desired page loads. I have tried editing a page, and actually previewing it, hoping to 'unstick' whatever setting is wrong, but that didn't work either.
Can anyone tell me what I did wrong, and how to undo it?
Thank you,
andi
There is no such message in core DokuWiki. I guess you installed some plugin that does that.

Andi,
With all reverance and respect, I beg to differ. I have not installed ANY plugins or templtes that did not come with teh core files. I get "Preview is loading ... if this does not goes away, your values may be faulty" messgae on EVER page. Sometimes for a few seconds, sometimes it get stuck there. The delay is getting realy annoying. I've tried looking for these "values" but can not find what it referes to. Any advice would be appreciated.

As andi said, this is no standard behaviour of dokuwiki. You have to search the reason for this message either in an additional plugin or template, or in other software you may use.

Cziehr,
Thanx for the reply.
I can ensure you, as I have said, I have not installed ANY "additional plugin or template". It is not possible for for me to "search the reason for this message" in either option.
In any case, could someone advise why this message may be coming up as so I may have a place to look as to prevent it?
While the responses of "this is no standard behaviour of dokuwiki" are appreciated they don't get me anywhere closer to fixing it.
=========
I have just disabled EVERY extension in the system and it is no longer displaying this. Again, I had not installed ANY additional plugins, templates or extensions that did not come in the core download. "this is no standard behaviour of dokuwiki" is irrelevant, one of the extensions INCLUDED IN the core download seems to have been causing the problem. It may not have been the Dokuwiki itself but given that the problem came with the dokuwiki files there's ZERO distinction that simple users like us can draw.
So, thanx anyway, I've fixed it myself :)

This looks to me like a possible hijack. It not only outputs a message in a format foreign to anything in Dokuwiki core, it also interferes with the downloading of your .css. This is not something Dokuwiki would do. I see that you have open registrations: have you set the phpok option to true?

turnermm,
Thanx for getting back to me, I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "open registrations". If you're refering to my allowing users to simply register, then yes, as I have no secret or sensitive information on the site. As my users have now registered (all four of them lol) I'll go and lock it. If refering to something else, could you ellaborate?
Thanx

This "Preview is loading" message, is bit longer:
Using a bit searching I hit this:
https://github.com/splitbrain/dokuwiki/blob/master/lib/plugins/styling/lang/en/lang.php#L11
It is from the Styling plugin. Did you maybe modify some of its values in the Admin?

Good detective work! Now 'values' makes sense.

I just got the same error myself.
The "Template style settings" page has an "Open as popup" button allowing you to fiddle with the template styles and preview your changes. If you close the main window before the popup you will get this "Preview is loading" behavior.
You need to visit "Template style settings", open the popup and close it again to get rid of the message.

tibor Thank you!! This was starting to drive me crazy.
