Release 2017-02-19b "Frusterick Manners"
ckgdoku version from 2017-06-04
The buttons for switching from ckgdoku to dweditor don't work.
(I opened a wiki page, pressed "Diese Seite bearbeiten"/Edit and pressed the "DW Edit" button under the ckgdoku editor. The page was reloaded, but after pressing the edit button another time, ckgdoku appeared again instead of the dokuwiki editor. Same for switching between the media managers.)
What is the reason for that behaviour? Is it related to the following messages?
When installing and updating ckgdoku the following messages showed up:
Das Update des Plugins ckgdoku war erfolgreich

What is the full version identifier, not just the date? And is this an update? or is it a fresh install? And have you been using ckgedit and have now moved to ckgdoku? In the latter case and in the case of an update, you may have to clear out the browser cache, including cookies, and reset the dokuwiki cache.
The error messages do not have anything to do with your issue. But if you don't have those symlinks installed, and you are on linux, then you will have to set the winstyle option to true.

Context:
I do not remember occurence of the problem before an update to "Frusterick manners". First, the problem occured with ckgedit (installed version: Wed, 31 May 2017 10:33:06 +0200) after update to "Frusterick manners". Then I installed ckgdoku and switched to it (Installed version: Fri, 09 Jun 2017 17:23:47 +0200) but the "DW Edit" button does not work.
I deleted the browser cache, cookies and dokuwiki cache. The problem persists.

You get the version either by clicking on the ? or by checking the VERSION file.
What browser are you using and on which OS?

Plugin-Version:
CKEditor 4.7.1 (Full) (revision 32ff3ea)
http://ckeditor.com
Modified for use with Dokuwiki, ckgeditor plugin version: _ckgDoku-cked_4.7-17-Jun_04-15_02
Browser:
I am using Firefox 53.0.3 on Ubuntu 14.04
turnermm
I tested on Ubuntu 16 with firefox 53.0.3 and had no problems. The next thing to do is look for javascript errors. So, press F12 and click on console, to see if there are any javascript errors.
Also, have you installed any new plugins that were not installed earlier?
jules
I did not install any new plugins except ckgdoku. I updated some existing plugins. Here is a list of installed plugins (bundled plugins are not listed):
Bureaucracy
Changes
Cloud
Structured Data
Diagram plugin, Splitter component
DW2Pdf plugin
Pagelist
PageQuery
Plugin manager
removeold
sqlite
Tag
Wrap
Javascript errors were not there. There were some errors in the CSS register of the console.

You will have to disable these plugins and then re-enable them one at a time to see if the problem is a conflict here. Start with the plugins that you updated. You don't have to worry about wrap, plugin manager, tag (which ckgedit/ckgdoku supports in its toolbar), or sqlite.
jules
I disabled all plugins (except bundled ones, wrap, plugin manager, tag and sqlite). But the button did not work.

This kind of error is invariably javascript, but you say you can't find a javascript error in the console. And you had this problem with both ckgedit and with ckgdoku. That's significant to me because ckgedit uses the previous version of the CKEditor while ckgdoku uses the latest version.
You can try installing a fresh dokuwiki and then install ckgedit or ckgdoku and see what happens. Something could have happened during the upgrade to F. Manners that is not showing up.

Hi,
I'm seeing similar issues on a clean install of Frusterick Manners.
ckgDoku version: _ckgDoku-ckgedit_457-18-Jan_31-10_39
On most pages, I am able to switch between ckgedit and dwedit, but what happens is that I click the CKG Edit button, and it brings me back to the rendered page, and I need to click the Edit button again to get to the CKG editor. On my main page (start), I cannot even get to the ckg editor.
To compare, I tried using ckgEdit: _ckgEdit-ckedit_4-18-Feb_10-09_11
When I use ckgedit, things seem a bit better -- when I click on DW Edit or CKG Edit, it takes me back to the rendered page, and on clicking the edit button, I see the other editor. It's unclear to me if this is the expected behavior of this button, or if I'm supposed to be able to go straight from one editor to the other.
I don't see anything in the javascript console.
Installed plugins:
clearhistory
searchindex
move
addnewpage
indexmenu
authsplit
(custom auth plugin)
I have disabled everything and created a test instance using authplain and I see the same behavior.

I had almost the same problem, I could not get from DW edit to CKG edit, after installing and uninstalling some other editors.
Clearing all site cookies solved the problem!
