I searched the archives for a way to link to a man page from Dokuwiki and didn't find an answer, so I thought I'd post my solution in case it is of help to others.
DW version: 46.3 (Hrun?)
CentOS version: 7.3.1611
* # yum install man2html[/m] which will pull in [m]man2html-core if required.
* Edit /etc/dokuwiki/interwiki.conf[/m] to include the line [m]man http://<server FQDN>/man/man2html? NB note the trailing "?".
* Use external links such as: "... for more details see the [[man>mail|man page]]". If the user cliscks the link he is presented with an HTML formatted version of the man page. Most "see also" type links will appear as hyperlinks.
* If you want you can also use [[man>]] which will send the user to an html searchable front page to the man files you have installed. Useful in a new user help guide.
Hope that's of use to someone,
Martin

Hmm, there is a predefined man interwiki shortcut, linking to man.cx so that should work out of the box?

Not if you cannot connect to the internet! If I don't provide it, the users don't see it.

I see. Pretty cruel to not give your users Internet access though ;-)

They can always walk over to another machine.:-D BTW, there is another reason for wanting local provision of man pages: I try to ensure local man pages are produced for locally written software and it enables the users to find the information they need quickly without having to reformat it into DW.
