michaelsy Your question has little in common with DokuWiki (apart from this tip: https://www.dokuwiki.org/tips:httpslogin) and refers to the general setup of your server. Meanwhile you've probably already found the relevant information on the internet.
katkota Thanks but i'm not sure if I'm following you here. you mean i should use the information about enforcing https for dokuwiki?
michaelsy Sorry, no, I may have expressed myself unclearly. I just wanted to point out that page for general information. I used the word "tip" only because the page belongs to the namespace "tips", no recommendation from me. Actually, I wanted to point out that your question is a question about the general server setup and has little to do with DokuWiki.
katkota Hey folks; I have dokuwiki installed and running on a Ubuntu server but it's not secure, I'm trying to generate CSR and a key so i can use our own CA to create certificate then import it to have a secure site and be able to use https://server/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=start instead of http://server/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=start Any help would be greatly appreciated
longgiang You can follow on this post, They guide installing free SSL from Let's Encrypt. https://tophostcoupon.com/how-to-install-lets-encrypt-on-linux-server/
[deleted] If you have a Cpanel or Plesk panel on your server then there is no need install anything. You only have to enable Let's encrypt SSL option from settings.
