I would like to have links to files on the local file system (the software developer's system, or on a mounted drive).
I'm writing:
* [[file:///P:/Manuals/UserManual.pdf|User Manual]] - Microprocessor User's Manual. 610 pages of glory.
which appears correctly in the browser (firefox) when I view the page in the wiki, there is a link that the mouse pointer responds to, I can right click and "copy link location"
But I CANNOT click on the link and have it be opened, or right click and "Open link in new window" or "open link in new tab". The URI is valid (I can paste it into the location field of firefox and have it open the file).
How is doku wiki "breaking" the file: URI? Where should I look to configure or fix this?
I see there is an issue from 2006 against this issue:
http://bugs.splitbrain.org/index.php?do=details&task_id=797&string=file%20link&project=1&search_name=&type[]=&sev[]=&pri[]=&due[]=&reported[]=&cat[]=&status[]=open&percent[]=&opened=&dev=&closed=&duedatefrom=&duedateto=&changedfrom=&changedto=&openedfrom=&openedto=&closedfrom=&closedto=
but low priority and no progress since then.
Should I abandon Doku wiki for another wiki?
