Proposed use : in documentation to provide clarification to terms and phrases used
eg Every job description has a mouse over text showing the current person in that role.
eg Every Acronym has a mouse over of the full term
The built in Acronym functionality plugin doesn't allow spaces in the term so although "HR" and "DPO" will work references to "Human Resources" and "Data Protection Officer" won't because of the spaces. Neither can the mouse over text be formatted text which would be useful in the case of job roles as a link to a page with [[contact details]] could be added or if the phrase was an application name or policy name it could link to the page for that item.
All the tooltip extensions appear to have the tooltip text defined locally within the page text. I need it to be defined centrally so that I can manage it in one place and so that the editors creating the documents don't need to manually add markup when they say "Network Manger" or "Data protection officer" or "HR" . I need to be able to add new phrases after the editors have completed their work to add definitions of phrases without going back through the text.
Is there a plugin that provides phrase highlighting with centralised management like Acronym but with spaces allowed in the phrases and with formatted text?
