Question regarding permissions.
Hi,
I'm trying to set up a dokuwiki website which is read only for the web, I just want people to be able to surf my website, but not necessarily add to it, I'll do that myself.
I've been toying with permissions on my Synology NAS. The user / group Web station runs with is http:http. So I chowned dokuwikidir/data to http:http (chown -R http:http $dokudir/data && chmod -R 700 $dokudir/data) but that breaks the setup, if I chmod to permission bits 777, it works again. What am I doing wrong here?
First thing that jumps to mind is that the owner/user is incorrect but I looked up the web station directory and /etc/passwd, all seems to point that I need to use owner:user http:http.
A bit puzzled here 🙂
