Recently our Slackware Documentation Project wiki at https://docs.slackware.com/ started rendering pages incorrectly. This is a web site which has worked flawlessly for years but a week ago I upgraded some of the packages of the underlying Slackware OS to their latest versions. Since then, parts of the Wiki syntax seem suddenly no longer parsed; For instance, a ~~NOCACHE~~
statement is prominently visible on the start page but the preceding ~~NOTOC~~
seems to be parsed correctly. Also, internal and external links are sometimes (but not always!) not rendered correctly and a string like "[[slackware:slackware|Slackware Linux]]" is not parsed and rendered as a clickable link.
I can't tell what triggers this behavior, some other pages render mostly correctly.
I notice that double characters in the source text like "[[" "//" and "\" are affected in particular, may that be a clou?
Example of bad rendering: https://docs.slackware.com/ https://docs.slackware.com/wiki:syntax and many others.
Dokuwiki version: 2020-07-29 "Hogfather" (I have upgraded to Hogfather after I noticed the issue, at the time I had been running dokuwiki-2018-04-22c for years, but the upgrade to Hogfather made no difference)
PHP version: 7.4.19 (but same issue with 7.4.16)
Apache HTTPD: 2.4.48 (same issue with 2.4.46)

One by one I have disabled and then re-enabled these plugins to see if any one of those was misbehaving, but it did not make any difference at all.
I use a custom template here (monobook) but this is a multi-site Dokuwiki with multiple Farm Animals. One of the Wiki's is very basic, mainly used for testing, and it uses the default Dokuwiki template. The syntax rendering issue is exactly the same there.
I am at a loss here. Does anyone recognize what could be going on? I can provide all and any info you would require from me.
Thanks, Eric Hameleers
