Hi,
my name is Frank, I am located in Heidelberg (Germany) and I am working as Linux system administrator for general infrastructure and the HPC cluster in a big scientific research institute.
I am using DW since many, many, many years and have introduced it at all of my past workplaces, sometimes replacing previously existing other Wiki installations (TWiki, MediaWiki, XWiki) :-). I specially like DW because it is (mostly) straightforward to use, text file based and has most of the functionalities (through plugins), that I need for what we use the Wiki for, i.e. technical and user documentation. The single most useful plugin being "struct" w/o which we could not live any more. Great work Andi! Also incredibly handy is the possibility to create URLs, which reflect the structure of the documentation (namespaces & co.).
In the past (being a mail person) I used to reach out to the DW mailing list with questions and problems, but unfortunately in the last years the mailing list has become less and less active and I often don't get answers or reactions to my posts, and my hope is, that this forum will provide a good (better? :-) alternative to the maillist.
Cheers, Frank
