It's true to a bit that no one wants to write their own plugins -- or at least that's me and my impostor syndrome thinking that the plugins I write are not good enough / not technically correct / whatever. But, that should not be an impediment to using the plugins ecosystem people are developing and have already developed for DokuWiki. It's true that, in terms of design principles, "built-in beats bolt-in", but then again the ability to bolt in behaviours whose implementation is fairly well documented has always been one of DW's greatest assets (there's entire official pages on how to write a syntax plugin and there's even a wizard, whereas I can't say I've found anyone ever who knows even how to start coding a MediaWiki plugin).
In terms of work, I'm working on redoing my confightmlok
plugin implementation. Will try to have it by tomorrow. For later today though, there should be an update to bbcodeextensions
that adds more tags. That plugin already offers a pretty good combination of styling and control.
