I recently updated my research website fabwiki.fabric-formedconcrete.com and allow users to register. I’ve gotten a flood of new registrants, nearly 800 now. When they register, they’re put into the group “newbie”.
I would like to be able to select a number of these users and put them in different groups, newbie1, newbie2, etc. That way they would be more manageable when sending out a newsletter using the groupmail plugin, verifying email addresses or changing their status to i.e., user1. Also, my webservice only allows a maximum of 500 email recipients at one time.
This would also be useful for downloading to a CSV file. Also, if one does download and modify a CSV file it would be useful to be able to upload that file without error messages. It would be one way to change user status. The user could be notified, and a new password issued.
The user manager has a select box but it’s only for deleting a user. If that could also be used to select a number of users to change their group status that would be great.
How difficult do you think it would be to revise the user manager?
Thanks.
