Hello 🙂
This post is mostly a question to @michitux (Michael Hamann), but everyone is obviously welcome to provide any useful information or advice.
I am currently preparing the upgrade from Jack Jackrum to Kaos and, as often, I need to check which plugins are still working or not. Doing so I found on the webpage of the plugin SaveAndEdit that there was a recent event in the changelog that states "Make the plugin post 2020 compatible" (sounds nice). However the version of the plugin is still from 2018 and it is still only labelled as compatible with Hogfather.
I was using this plugin in the past and it was very convenient. However, it stopped working back in 2022 AFAICT when I upgraded from Hogfather to Igor. It didn't seem to cause any issue but the functionality was broken. I never uninstalled nor disabled it. I considered the plugin as no longer maintained and was sorry to no longer being able to benefit from it.
Now if what I saw on the changelog means that a new version may come up soon(ish) that would be great news. Or maybe I shouldn't keep my hopes up? I'm not familiar with coding and the specific lingo but from what I can see, there was a recent pull request (whatever that means) made on Github and merged by @michitux . I assume that this means that the plugin will be updated, right?
Also I'm not sure what "Make the plugin post 2020 compatible" means. Does it mean it will work in Kaos? If so the contributor might have indicated post 2024 or something like that, right? I'm confused.
Thank you very much in advance for your help.
best,
