pedrotuga I am using mysql authentication and it works perfectly. But there's this small thing that is worrying me a bit. According on the docs in here: http://www.dokuwiki.org/auth:mysql#configuration I should edit the file conf/local.protected.php[/m]. Problem is, it doesn't exist. Should I create it, or am I just fine editing [m]local.php?

(If you use local.php it can cause troubles when updating it via the config manager.) See http://www.dokuwiki.org/config#summary_of_the_configuration_files for more information.
pedrotuga So.. I assume I should put a php opening tag, whatever statements I want to be executed, and leave it without the ending tag, just like it is on local.php. Correct?
