Well, I didn't mean to put you off, think of DokuWiki as an animal which doesn't need water or food, but filespace ;-) ... not much, but it needs at least some (some numbers: I have a personal wiki with around 400 pages and the cache attic and most import media files take up around 500MB space ... the pages iself, the raw data, is just 1.8MB ;-))
*********************************
Would you be please so kind and calculate again your dynamic space *without* the *original* media files in the media directory ?
*********************************
With my project, my homepage, the media files are just as static as the pages, just uploaded by myself, so media files should not count for that.
Welll... media files are not cached, right ?!
In fact, about 10 years ago, A_PLACE_YOU_SHOULD_NOT_MENTION_HERE started offering 50 MB, then upgraded to 100 MB,
there were even FTP messages mentioning the used filequote, but not now. I don´t find any infos on the website ( uhh...)
so I am a little bit surprised with your figure of 1500 MB :-),
maybe you confused with
www.000webhost.com/
which really offers this amount of filespace, and is sometimes advertised here (
http://www.dokuwiki.org/install:free.fr )
You see
A_PLACE_YOU_SHOULD_NOT_MENTION_HERE
is a place where I feel well. A stable place in my life.
I would like that my website survives for several years, even in case of a sudden death :-).
Thats why my filespace is not connected with my domain name ( really ), as not paying the domain fee will not expire my webspace.
So no discontinued free hosting, no blowing- up of my webspace due to growing cache files...
Sincerely
Rolf
