Hello,
I'm currently working on authenticating users with a distant LDAP server on which I don't have an admin access, and I want to manage groups like I did when using 'plain' authentication.
Basically, I just want everyone in the LDAP server to be able to log in as a user, and then automatically affect them to the 'wysiwyg' group (I'm using the wysiwyg plugin). How can I give this group to each user from the LDAP server?
I tried using split with ldap/plain, but I can't access the user manager, nor see the list and information about each user. Groups seems to be working only when using plain auth alone.
This in really important since this is for my job, so thanks in advance for helping me out.

Any idea?

Well, I modified the wysiwyg plugin to show the wysiwyg interface for everyone now.
Still, if someone can help me to add and manage groups with dokuwiki using split authentication, it'll be really helpful.

So, really, no one knows how to make groups from LDAP appear in DokuWiki's ACL manager?

Hi, I'm the author of the split auth backend. Sorry I don't monitor the forums as much as I do the mailing list.
I'm not entirely clear on what you are (were?) trying to do, but here's are couple of starters.
For your wysiwyg group, the ldap backend will respect the $conf['defaultgroup'] setting to add this group to every authenticated user, and split has a config option $conf['auth']['split']['merge_groups'] which can be set "true" so that any groups from the ldap backend will be merged with those found in plain.
In terms of the usermanger it should work but you may need to enable debugging to see what capabilities are available when ldap or plain are configured on their own.
