OK, lets' start with the basics:
1) I believe the title text itself is lifted from your "Configuration Manager" under "Basic Settings". You can change the text after signing into your wiki. You can change the text here but to change the look (font color, size, position, etc.) you need to know some CSS or HTML.
2) Next, go into your main.php document and look for:
<div class="logo">
<?php tpl_link(wl(),$conf['title'],'name="dokuwiki__top" id="dokuwiki__top" accesskey="h" title="[H]"')?>
</div>
The <div class="logo"> refers to the CSS that controls how your title is rendered. So you can change the look in one of two ways:
a) Go to your layout.css document and adjust the CSS for "div.dokuwiki .logo" AND "div.dokuwiki .logo a". The second div class includes "a" meaning THAT is the css that controls the links in the logo class. Increase the font, change the color, alignment, font-family. This assumes you understand CSS properties.
b) Do what I did. Delete the entire logo (evereything from and including the <div class="logo"> to and including that </div> . Replace it with any HTML you like.
I made my 'title' a clickable image link. Take a look here:
http://www.casualtourist.com/massachusetts/boston
EDIT:
I did make my title a clickable image but didn't like it after awhile. Now it's a simple text link with a background image. First, I created some new css in design.css:
#header-image {
margin-top: 7px;
margin-bottom: 7px;
width: 976px;
height: 150px;
background-image: url('/_media/header_image.jpg');
background-image: no-repeat;
border: 1px solid #eee;
}
#header-image a {
font-family: 'Lucida Sans Unicode', 'Lucida Grande', sans-serif;
letter-spacing: 1pt;
color: #fff;
font-size: 34px;
float: left;
padding-left: 5px;
padding-top: 105px;
}
Then I went to main.php and replaced the entire:
<div class="logo">...</div>
with
<div id="header-image"><a href="/">casualtourist.com</a></div>
Now my header has a background image with a border and the link is right where I want it and I change how it looks any time I like by changing my cc. Hope this helps.
BTW: I'm sure you dokuwiki/css experts could easily improve my css etc. Feel free to suggest changes.
