We just migrated our internal Dokuwiki to a new server and upgraded to the latest Dokuwiki version (12/25/09) at the same time. Everything looks good, except that the "old revisions" button for all pages shows only the current revision. The "attic" directories on the old and new servers match. The admin found it necessary to clear data/cache, which worries me but is supposed to be legitimate. Any ideas what might have gone wrong?

Did you also migrate the data/meta directory (which holds all the changelogs to reference the files in the attic)?

The new and old data/meta directories look the same, except for two entries which appear only in the new one:
-rw-r--r-- 1 apache users 200 Jan 26 16:49 _dokuwiki.changes
-rw-r--r-- 1 apache users 0 Jan 26 16:38 _dokuwiki.changes.trimmed

Okay, from which version did you upgrade?
gmcgath
The old version is 2005-09-22c. Yeah, rather a big jump.

Thought so. You have to make intermediate updates in this case. The changelog format has changed in 2006-11-06. There was a conversion plugin included until the 2008-05-05 release. You have to update to this version first - then update to the latest release (which doesn't include the conversion plugin anymore).

Thanks. I'll see if anyone complains, and pursue that route if they do. I'm telling them in the meantime that the old wiki will be up for a while if they need to check old versions.
