Hi,
I write here, since this thread pops up, whenever I do a search on this topic. But, until today I wasn't able to find an adequate solution in the documentation to incorporate the current time stamp (dynamic content). I think, this is much needed, but not well documented.
Especially for beginners like me, it is not so easy to find the rather complex solution by themselfs. So, just for the records I want to post, what worked for me.
For obvious security reasons, not everybody wants to use phpwikify, which is not recommended, anyways! To stick with the recommended features, use one of the predefined dokuwiki hooks:
https://www.dokuwiki.org/include_hooks
I use:
sidebarheader.html
Create this file in your config folder (/dokuwiki/conf). In the file place the following line, thanks to turnermm :
<?php echo 'Today: ' . date('Y-m-d'); ?>
That's it, the current date (timestamp) will be displayed in the sidebar!
The output can be further styled, using CSS text styling parameters in /dokuwiki/conf/userall.css (create if not existing, example given):
.sidebarheader { font-size: 150%; color: grey; font-style: italic; }
Enjoy!
