Ok, I know, this is a FAQ, even though it's not in the FAQ, but here goes anyway. I'm a new user of Dokuwiki, evaluating it as a templating tool for work (I'll create another topic about that). I started off with "Release 2010-11-07a "Anteater"", got upgrade notices in admin view, so downloaded "2011-05-25 "Rincewind"", followed the upgrade instructions (
http://www.dokuwiki.org/install:upgrade), and still got upgrade notices and the version displayed in the bottom right of the window still refers to Anteater.
So I looked at the update check doc (
http://www.dokuwiki.org/update_check) and carried out the following:
touched doku.php (timestamp now May 25 17:36)
deleted /data/cache/messages.txt
cleared the Firefox history and cache
No dice - the notices still appear. It's been over a day since the upgrade. It's not a browser thing as the same happens in Chrome. I can't delete the cache files because they're owned by Apache and I'm just a grunt user, lowest of the low. I could maybe edit the $update global (current value = 30) in doku.php if I knew what value it should have. Or I could disable upgrade checks in the config manager, but I want to receive security notifications. Is there anything else I can do? It's a minor irritation, but one that's bugging me, such that I've spent well over 2 hours trying to fix it.
