kts Thank you for your advice. Yes. I have tried to register other users within the Admin page ( using User Manager). User can only log in once. When they logged out the page, and tried to log in, the log in page keep showing up LOGIN FAILED. I have no clue where to look for the reason. If using Admin to reactivate the password, it works again but, when they logged out, the problem started. I m not sure where to look for it as I havn't play around with wiki before.
dr-no Hello, unfortunately, I cannot offer a solution, but I have the same problem. I work with dokuwiki since 2007, everything running smothely. For some time now, users cannot login. In my case, they can login with their old password, but when they change it, dokuwiki says: username or password not correct. Then there ist another weird behaviour: the "syntax"-page does not display. You call it, wait sometime, nothing happens. The page header is there, but the main part and the footer just do not appear, no error, just nothing. I run Windows XP and xampp. I have copied the whole xampp-installation to another machine (some old box running under W2K), everything works. Copied the installation back to my server: same problem. I wonder if there is some function called by dokuwiki that does not work on my server. (It is automatically updated with virus scanner and the like by my company). I have just updated dokuwiki to "Angua", which worked fine, but the error is still there. I hope there are some ideas out there... Norbert
turnermm Put the following at the top of doku.php: ini_set('display_errors','1'); This will force all php errors to be printed to the screen. See: http://ca.php.net/manual/en/errorfunc.configuration.php#ini.display-errors Remove it once you are finished debugging.
dr-no Hello Myron, thanks for the prompt response. I copied the line, but there is no output. Regarding the syntax page, it still does not show, neither do any errors. The login seems to work somehow. I changed several passwords, either as admin or as user, and the login worked almost every time except once. Can it be that a three letter word is to short to be recognized as password?
turnermm Can it be that a three letter word is to short to be recognized as password? I tried a three letter pwd and it worked. But there could be differences between PHP md5 on different OSes, I'm not sure.
