Subject: Error: "Warning: Cannot modify header information..."
Hi,

Today I put dokuwiki in my server:
http://xeix.org/wiki/doku.php

and I get the following error:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output
started at /datos/home/d116457/public_html/wiki/conf/local.php:1)
in /datos/home/d116457/public_html/wiki/inc/actions.php on line 105

I don't know why I receive it.

Can you help me please?

The local.php is:

<?

$conf['title'] = 'Wiki';
$conf['useacl'] = 1;
$conf['superuser'] = 'xeix';
$conf['lang'] = 'ca';
$conf['dformat'] = 'd/m/Y (H:i)';
$conf['pluginmanager'] = 1;
$conf['start'] = 'Inici';

$conf['template'] = 'default-sidebar';

?>

and I don't touch any line of actions.php

Thank you very much,
Xan.

I think, but I'm not very sure, your tags aren't correct or/and an empty line is somewhere above the/any opening tag.
The opening tag is usually "<?php" and no closing tag, thats done somewhere else.
You can try renaming your local.php to local.php.old, copy the dokuwiki.php to local.php and delete every config option you don't need to modify.
If this doesn't help try searching the DW web site or with your favourite search web site.

The strange thing is I have no Session cookie error, just the Cannot modify header...

I do not use Windows and I have never edited any php file :-( I am running RHEL 4.

I think it can simply be "white space" characters -- spaces, tabs, \n\r etc..

Be sure you have NO SPACES OR NEWLINES outside the <?PHP and ?>.  These characters will be output VERY early -- long before your site tries to output any headers -- and you'll get that error.  < should be the first, and > should be the last character in the local.php file.

It can also occur when you have an space outside the code in Plugins and things, but here it is saying your local.php started the output.
