Subject: last viewed page(s) from a user
Hi,

a plugin which shows the last pages viewed by a user or/and redirect directly to the last page viewed by the user would be very nice.

I did a quick check of DW plugins but was not able to find something similar.
Initially it looks not that complex but there is something to be considered at the point where to store the data.

First idea, which came into my mind, is to store the breadcrumbs and reload them once the user is back.

1. store within DW
 - will work for registered users only due to IPs are not reliable (dynamic IPs)
 - needs maintenance for useres unregistered or not using your DW over a longer time (causing orphan entries)
 - consuming space on your server
 - adds Server load per DW browsing event

2. store it as a cookie on the client site
 - is more complex
 - depends on the browser settings if cookies are allowed (and some other things)
 - adds internet traffic per DW browsing event

However the way No 1 seem to be easier (due to I've no clue about cookie handling  :-(  )

Footnote:
The user behavior will be stored. That is to be told to the user within the registration information and website privacy statement  to prevent conflicting privacy act/law.
best regards

I would prefer the first idea:

registered users only is OK

 - needs maintenance for useres unregistered or not using your DW over a longer time (causing orphan entries)
not for unregistered users => no maintenance necessary

 - consuming space on your server
could not be so much if only for registered users?

 - adds Server load per DW browsing event
I'm not familiar with that

Thank you very much, I installed it and it works.

It uses cookies, which means it is machine dependent, not user dependent.

If you edit your wiki from different machines, you will not have the same list of recent pages visited, as I think.
May be, the way to mark a page as favorite will be a solution. But this has to be done manually and I will test this.

Many thanks.
