Myron and others.
I've found that Ckg Edit is great for migration, and we have used it extensively. I have also used Ckg Edit search and replace function.
I've also found that when we switch back and forth between DW Edit and Ckg Edit the format seems to change for the worse, so once a document has migrated I am trying to encourage all Editors to just work in DW Edit.
So then comes the search and replace question again.
I've been using the Firefox ItsAllText Addon which enables Notepad++ and Notepad++ S&R and is great for single page search and replace.
We've also been using the native Dokuwiki Search at the top which is very good.
I wish Search had selection for:
- Full document
- Current page
- Current page & below
- Parent namespace & below.
Also I have a wish for a simple Replace field
and the following User Controls
- Screen moves to the item being replaced. Question: Replace? Yes, No, Stop, Replace all.
I understand the Move Plugin has much of the code necessary to accomplish this, and I believe it should be a basic feature.
Perhaps the more powerful Search and Replace (global)) should be limited admin and managers.
Please see these Issue Discussions on Github Move Plugin with Michael Hamman
New Feature - Add native recursive find & replace function to the Move Plugin #88

New Feature - Make Move Plugin optionally recursive #89
https://github.com/michitux/dokuwiki-plugin-move/issues/89
Michael has said that his plugin does have much of the code needed, but he probably won't be doing it.
Why is this needed?
1. Search and replace Media and Internal links.
2. Find certain types of links and text and replace with more current text.
3. Reduce time maintaining Wiki.
