Subject: page width in bootstrap3-template (solved, but not tested 100% :-))
How can I adjust the page width in bootstrap3-template? The normal one is too small and the extended one (via button) is too wide. I think I need to adjust something in the bootstrap3-code.

Hi virk, try this:
  1. .container {  width: 76em;  }
  2.
  3. #dokuwiki__aside {   width: 16.6667%;   }
  4.
  5. #dokuwiki__content {   width: 80%;   }

But be aware this is a very quick&dirty solution. The template thereby loses its mobile capability.

Possibly there are other unwanted side effects.

Feedback welcome

I put the code into userstyle.css and it seems to work. Up to now no collateral damage. But I do not know what the code means. Thanks so far!

You need to create the file yourself, please see https://www.dokuwiki.org/devel:css#user_styles.

Hello,

Thank you for the answer but it does not work for me. I created a userstyle.css file in the Dokuwiki folder with the following content:

    .container {  width: 76em;  }

    #dokuwiki__aside {   width: 16.6667%;   }

    #dokuwiki__content {   width: 80%;   }

Even emptying the cache of my browser, I have no visual changes.

In which folder exactly did you create the file? It needs to be in {your-dokuwiki-installation-dir}/conf/userstyle.css.

For non break the layout on other device (mobile, tablet and large monitor), i suggest to use "leftSidebarGrid" (and "rightSidebarGrid") options in Configuration Settings.

This options use the standard Bootstrap grid classes (https://getbootstrap.com/docs/3.4/css/#grid).
