Well, nice try!
Just some little corrections and clarifications:
1) I don't know much about RedHat and its packages.. so here I can't help you.
2)
3) The openssl_get_cert_locations() function was added with PHP 5.6 and this is way it doesn't work for you.
4) You have to download (right click->save) cacert.pem (not ca-bundle.crt) and put it in /etc/pki/tls/certs.
Then add these two lines at the bottom of your php.ini:
openssl.cafile=/etc/pki/tls/certs/cacert.pem
openssl.capath=/etc/pki/tls/certs

Save and restart Apache.

I don't want to force you to upgrade your PHP version, it's up to you.

Your remark is valid..It slipped my notice post #7.
Indeed the PHP'doc refers to PHP 5.6 and in the previous versions there is no mention to OpenSSL or any correlated change.
(http://docs.php.net/manual/en/appendices.php in particular the section "Migrating from PHP 5.5.x to PHP 5.6.x").

But what I suggested in my point 4) could be independent from the PHP version (I think) since it refers to SSL (http://docs.php.net/manual/en/context.php in particular the section "SSL context options").

I think you could try to add a certificate in your openssl directory and edit your php.ini as I suggested in point 4). It's a simple test and if doesn't work you can easily come back.

The other option is to upgrade your PHP version, but this is trebly demanding, not so easily reversible, and it couldn't be solve the problem..see for yourself.

Added:
But also consider that php 5.3 is no longer supported http://php.net/supported-versions.php, so it won't a waste of time if you decide to upgrade your PHP version.

Also setting https://www.dokuwiki.org/config:useheading to Navigation Only, in your Configuration Manager, you can replace the name of the page with its first heading. Maybe could be an alternative. Do as you think best.

It would be interesting to see if the business of the certificates (that you have already read here https://forum.dokuwiki.org/thread/12273) works also in your case.

Unfortunately I don't have Redhat so I couldn't help you, but, I think, the steps are the same.
Actually it's only the step 4) but, obviously, the paths are different.

If you want to have a try, it would be interesting.
Remember to make a safe copy of what you are going to touch.

Hi,
I know that https://www.dokuwiki.org/plugin:nspages?s[]=nspages plugin gives you the possibility to -exclude a given page.

For example, the syntax:
<nspages namespace-0:namespace-1 -exclude:start>
will show all the pages in namespace-1 except namespace-1:start.
Since start is never listed (but you can visit it and, actually, you use this page to list all the pages of your namespace) it won't appear in the hierarchical breadcrumbs.

If this is the final result that you want, maybe, before you start to modify the DW's code have a look at it, otherwise wait for some other suggestion.

If I'm not mistaken, the plugin styling works in much the same way I described, that is it replaces the values in your style.ini.
Have a look at lib/plugins/styling/admin.php

One idea could be to parse your css file before it gets sent to the server and replace the value(s) that you want to change.
It's not very difficult to implement.

In your action.php create a specific function which reads the variable $this->getConf('my_var');
compares it with its current value and then, with preg_metch, rewrites your style.css.

Hi,
I think the main problem is the browser compatibility.
See here at the bottom of the page https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/Using_CSS…

I think in this case you have to integrate your own code in the dw2pdf plugin, because they seem to be very particular needs. In other words it's not immediately to implement...

Besides what already pointed out, also get an eyeful of the DokuWiki Development Manual and especially at https://www.dokuwiki.org/devel:environment, in order the get all the $INFOrmation about the current wiki page.

Codowik template has a good lateral menu which you can show or hide... but some plugins don't work properly in there.

Maybe in the collection of templates you could find sth. useful but it's nonetheless true that change template it's a drastic action.

Hi,
Is your wiki hosted in free web hosting or not? Namely, can you try to disable the firewall and see if EM works properly?
Have you already read this https://forum.dokuwiki.org/post/46586?

But, for example using docnavigation, you can use the syntax
..:start
that is:
<- previous_page ^ ..:start|Up ^ next page ->

(How to navigate through namespaces -> https://www.dokuwiki.org/namespaces)
