It should keep an empty namespace in the table of contents file.

I think you best option would be to create a page called "toc" and create a structured TOC in there. Then you can export using the doc option and will only have these pages in the output. See documentation for reference.

The Siteexport exports everything as seen. You should modify your template or create a new one just for exporting which does not include the header/ footer / buttons that you do not want. In addition you should use a user for the export who has read permissions for all pages but no write permissions. This makes the edit buttons go away.

It is always good to contribute back. Either create a pull request for the core or create a plugin out of it.

Changing permissions as per the documentation (and if in doubt defined by the code in preload.php) for the user of the webserver should be sufficient. In addition you should be sure that you can create files using php/dokuwiki.

If all this fails, which I never header of before, try to add debug code to the preload.php file, or create the inc/preload.php with the content:

/* SITE EXPORT *********************************************************** */
    if ( file_exists( DOKU_INC . 'lib/plugins/siteexport/preload.php') ) {
        include_once(DOKU_INC . 'lib/plugins/siteexport/preload.php');
        $siteexport_preload = new preload_plugin_siteexport();
        $siteexport_preload->__register_template();
        $siteexport_preload->__temporary_disable_plugins();
        unset($siteexport_preload);
    }
/* SITE EXPORT END *********************************************************** */

Has this been resolved? Have you upgraded to the latest version?

If there are still problems, please report via the support email or github issues page. Please provide a Log with Debug settings if possible.

The plugin adds its results to a search request/search page automatically. AFAIK the DW API has no tpl_output_search_bar() method.

Yoru're using one of the latest versions of DW, right? I pushed an update that should fix this. It is possible this worked on my side since I have another plugin that already had this function. Will try to make unit tests as well ;)

Your initial syntax should have worked as well if you had the popupviewer plugin installed. Can you check that again and see if there were any other errors, like JavaSCript errors? The image does exist I guess?
