This is because I need links to web.archive.org, ncbi.nlm.nih.gov and so on, but it is not possible to use placeholders (like {PATH}, {QUERY} etc) for making request.

Can you give some complete examples? I don't see why interwiki links wont do what you want in it's current implemention.

Have you seen the composer plugin?

This plugin creates a single page from a chosen directory.
All files are included, so that you are able to print it or save it as single page.

There is.

Go to the "Admin" section, then "User Manager". You should see a list of the users on your wiki, if he isn't displayed - enter his username in the filter to find him. To edit details for a user, click the little icon with a pen in front of a man between the checkbox and username. On the lower right you will now see fields to edit the details for that user, including a list of groups the user is in seperated by commas. Write your administrator group there.

From what I can understand of the toolbar framework, you are trying two different approaches at the same time. Adding something to the end (javascript) and inserting a button in the existing lineup (toolbar.php).

I suggest you try the following;

1. Remove your modification to inc/toolbar.php
2. Remove the surrounding function tags on your javascript. You don't appear to be calling this function anywhere, so I don't see how it would get added with the function tags around it.

To sum up (conf/userscript.js):
if(toolbar){
  toolbar[toolbar.length] = {"type":"format",
                             "title":"add discussion",
                             "icon":"discussion.png",
                             "key":"",
                             "open":"~~DISCUSSION~~",
                             "close":""};
  }
}

You can think of pages as files and namespaces as folders. That is actually what they are in the file structure behind DokuWiki.

Instead of explaining it here, I think the following two pages in the wiki namespace describe it quite well.

2. Think this plugin, http://wiki.splitbrain.org/users:phptard:groupstartpage, at least mostly covers what you are asking for.

Open up the design.css file of the arctic template in your favourite text-editor.
Look for the following text, "/* indent different sections */", should start around line 394.

Hope that gives you a good idea about what to do, remember you may need to purge the cache before any changes will take effect.

There is a mime.conf file in the /conf/ folder, where allowed extensions are defined. http://wiki.splitbrain.org/wiki:mime.

You can create a mime.local.conf file in that folder, which will serve as additional file extensions and not be overwritten in case you need to upgrade DokuWiki.

I haven't personally played with DokuWiki as a high traffic site, but I doubt it would be the best solution for you. Saying this even though I'm crazy about DokuWiki.

There are some reports from other people in regards to scalability here. Do note that not many of those reports list what version they are using, and lately the "worse" parts like searching has been improved.
And some talk about DokuWiki performance.

I use Google Analytics for my DokuWiki stats. Relies on Javascript just like koko's stats.

Another option is to use the View Counter by Erazor. It is sort of a hack, but with the new action-plugins in DokuWiki 2006-11-06, it should be possible to incorporate in a plugin and save the counter data in the metadata for each page. Would require someone to write it into a plugin first though  :-D

Just as another option, I wanted to mention the Discussion plugin. Instead of using it for a discussion section below each page, you could set up a single wiki:guestbook page with ~~DISCUSSION~~ whilst turned off everywhere else.

As far as I can tell from your first post it would do what you are after.
