After submitting a bug request a couple of weeks ago, it seems the Folded Plugin has now been resolved. Issues with duplicate element_IDs.

The folded plugin is broken.

You can't use it in a sidebar, as any folded blocks on a wiki page interferes with it.
The ID's seems to clash.

Try the Outliner plugin instead.

Sorry, it's nothing like the Discussion plugin. It's more of an SMS styled chatbox. We keep the character count to 255.

Folded plugin has just had a Greebo update, and works on a desktop and mobile OK, except when placed on a mobile, it is disabled in the sidebar.

Oh, and to add:

The Folded plugin neither works in a Sidebar, or when the page is viewed on a Mobile/Smartphone.
Something to do with Cookies, and ID's dished out by Folded. Oh well..

Actually, I have decided to go with a paid solution, using the Cbox https://www.cbox.ws app instead.

I have created my account, which also created an iframe bit of code, as well as an https URL.

Within Dokuwiki, you add in the code to a page, but in my case, I've added it into my Sidebar, using:

1) the Iframe plugin to render the Cbox panel ..
2) the Outliner plugin. You can use the # to keep it minimzed, or ^ to keep it open.

--> Cbox#
{{url>[URL] 180px,350px noscroll noborder}}

<--

(use the https code)

The good thing with Cbox, is that I can integrate it to Dokuwiki's User Management through an API available from Cbox, which means that users logged in to the Wiki will have their credentials picked up by Cbox in tandem.

The downside of this User Management/API solution is that you are required to use Cbox's Pro account which is $7.50 a month. I currently use the Premium account ($US20 per annum), but the Premium app doesn't have any lock down to users, meaning that it is open to the general public, which is probably not a good thing.

The other thing also, you'll need to white-list your Cbox URL if you are using extensions such as Adblock, Ghostery or PrivacyBadger, as these will stop the Cbox Chat Box from displaying in your browser.

Cheers.

Subject: Shoutbox, to be used in a sidebar (preferably)
Hi all,

First time user here, it looks like just the sort of place I need to be.
I am currently moving content from a PHP based site to DokuWiki.
The version of CMS I am using is no longer being supported, so I am moving.
The transition is going ok.

There are a couple of plugins I used to use, one is called a Shoutbox.
Essentially it used to sit in my left-side menu, and users logged in could drop a quick note, which would be visible to all users (or even all non-members/guests - switch on/off for visibility).

I have attached an image of what it looks like.

[Image: https://getwriting.net/images/shoutbox.png]

The Shoutbox could be set up to be viewed in a small left or right sided panel (say, with a width set to 120px) or even in a center-panel with a larger width size. Using a Bootstrap3 config, I guess it could be set to col size=sm.

I'm wondering whether a plugin like this would be a useful addition?

Thanks.
Horrie
