I believe there is something wrong in the server or with the infrastructure.
I installed Dokuwiki to a sales guy and he told me it wasn't working (another machine, another browser).
I just tried to connect using firefox and still shows I'm not connected:

Turnermm and Andi,

Yes I was connected but it shows I'm not.

I verified and no cookie was created on my laptop. (I listed all cookies using Chrome)

tks

Andi, I did a new installation and i changed the user name:

I removed all commented lines here, but I kept on the files

[root@vcssweb01 conf]# more local.php
$conf['title'] = 'Wiki_Sales';
$conf['lang'] = 'en';
$conf['license'] = 'cc-by-sa';
$conf['useacl'] = 1;
$conf['superuser'] = 'wikiuser';

[root@vcssweb01 conf]# more users.auth.php
wikiuser:$1$DopXuvVd$CwD8pajNTxsRmSpHqXDEh0:Marcelo Resende:marcelo.resende@email.com:admin,user

Hi Michaelsy,

thanks for you r reply.

As you can see in the initial post, there is a superuser created:

# more local.php
   $conf['superuser'] = 'mresende';

# more users.auth.php
    mresende:$1$SwlRlXlI$/DpeBvVcxrgw3ruMs5ObA0:Marcelo Resende:marcelo.resende@email.com:admin,user

Did I forget anything regarding users ?

Thanks

João Carlos

Turnermm,

I´m using the default template. I just ran install.php with all defaults values, except user and password.

Regards

João Carlos

Subject: No Admin Button
Hi All,
I'm new user and I have the issue  described on subject: No admin button. I already read a lot of messages regarding this but no success until now.
I change all directory permission to 777, changed the owner and group to "normal" user:

# more local.php
$conf['title'] = 'Wiki_Sales';
$conf['lang'] = 'en';
$conf['license'] = 'cc-by-sa';
$conf['useacl'] = 1;
$conf['superuser'] = 'mresende';

# more users.auth.php
mresende:$1$SwlRlXlI$/DpeBvVcxrgw3ruMs5ObA0:Marcelo Resende:marcelo.resende@email.com:admin,user
jogarcia:$1$avtW5aF0$J4OjimKHaLCSz9blSlYoL/:JOAO CARLOS GARCIA:joao.garcia@email.com:user

I really appreciate your help
