Weird. I seemed to have sorted this but I do not know how.

I basically logged into the server using the terminal, and got error messages about a full volume via tab completion. Apparently this might be related to space issues: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/277387/tab-comple…

I recently made a change where I added another user to my server. I don't know how this produced the error, but what I did was just reboot the server and it seemed to fix the mistake.

Is there a chance that the server was really busy (lot of requests to Apache or something) when the error occurred? Does it happen every time or just occasionally?

It happens every time!

I know that I changed some issues with permissions on my server in recent weeks, and I'm sure it precipitated this error. But whatever the fact is, the bottom line is that the directory is owned and has www-data as user, and yet still this error occurs.

It's weird. I just checked that directory and it lists:

drwxrwsr-x  2 www-data www-data  4096 Dec 12 13:55 locks

so I would have thought the permissions were fine?

Subject: Lock failed when creating new page
I've encountered a weird error when I try to create a new page on my Dokuwiki. It doesn't seem to kick in when editing current posts. The error message is:

Writing /var/www/myserver.com/public_html/data/locks/e92f28f4603eb85db3c79a759f579432.lock failed

Does anybody know the issue?

Subject: Editing bootstrap3 template to allow larger logos
I've been trying to insert a 171px x 60px logo into the images/logo.png location. This is larger than the 32px allowance that seems to be embedded into the template. I tried to modify line 32 of navbar.php with:

$logo_size = 'height="60"';

but this doesn't seem to solve the issue, which is that the image is not centred on the top navbar.

[Image: https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/4688030/69014661-892d4580-0984-11ea-965d-1045d49f58de.png]

I have tried to play with the tpl/navbar.php snippet

tpl_link(
                    $home_link,
                    '<img src="'.$logo.'" alt="'.$title.'" class="pull-left'.(($tagline) ? ' dw-logo-tagline' : '').'" id="dw__logo" '.$logo_size.' />
                    <span id="dw__title" '.($tagline ? 'style="margin-top:-5px"': '').'>'. $title . $tagline .'</span>',
                    'accesskey="h" title="[H]" class="navbar-brand"'
                );

but to be honest I do not understand what this section of code is doing.

Part of the difficulty is that the CSS uses LESS and I'm not very familiar with that structure. I've tried to use Inspect mode on my browser to track down the issue.

Could it be something like defining a float or absolute position for the image somehow?

The template code can be found at this Github link: https://github.com/giterlizzi/dokuwiki-template-bootstrap3

You can create your own style in conf/userstyle.css. See https://www.dokuwiki.org/devel:css.

This sets the same style as the "centered media" style to left and right aligned media, on all screens whose width is less than 1024px :
@media (max-width: 1024px) {
  .dokuwiki img.medialeft, .dokuwiki img.mediaright {
    margin: .2em auto;
    float: unset;
    display: block;
  }
}

Thanks! This seems to work largely like a charm. Quick question though---it seems to be left-aligning it. I assume the 'margin: .2em auto' command should be centre aligning it, but maybe it's because there are other factors due to the level it's at on the page.

I've checked via inspect and the margin commands are active. I've also tried margin-left: auto and margin-right: auto.

Thoughts?

Subject: Image alignment based on screen size
A lot of times, I may want an image to be right-or left-aligned with text flowing around it. This can be done using the image alignment options:

{{ wiki:dokuwiki-128.png}}
{{wiki:dokuwiki-128.png }}
{{ wiki:dokuwiki-128.png }}

However, often right- or left-aligned images do not look so good when the screen size is small---such as the case on mobile format. In this case, I would prefer for all images to be displayed as centre aligned as default.

Is there a way to force mobile images to always be displayed in centred form?

Subject: Can't seem to edit any files using the web interface
Something has happened, and unfortunately I have no clue what caused the change. Basically, when I go to edit a a file via

http://www.mypage.com/start?do=edit

I'll press the "Save" button, but the entire page refreshes. No changes are registered on the page. I don't receive any errors --- it just refreshes the edit page. If I select "Preview", I get the same thing --- the page is refreshed.

I'm logged in, and it was working previously. I tried changing my template in case there was some recent edit to the template, but the error is preserved.

I can edit the raw text file using an FTP editor, but it doesn't seem like the usual 'edit page' interface works. Something must have changed on my end, but I'm not sure how to track down the issue.

On the default Dokuwiki template, there should be a file called tpl_header.php, which generates the headers. You'll see a little snippet at the bottom to generate the breadcrumbs. See here:

  <!-- BREADCRUMBS -->
  77      <?php if($conf['breadcrumbs'] || $conf['youarehere']): ?>
  78          <div class="breadcrumbs">
  79              <?php if($conf['youarehere']): ?>
  80                  <div class="youarehere"><?php tpl_youarehere() ?></div>
  81              <?php endif ?>
  82              <?php if($conf['breadcrumbs']): ?>
  83                  <div class="trace"><?php tpl_breadcrumbs() ?></div>
  84              <?php endif ?>
  85          </div>
  86      <?php endif ?>

Thanks ach. I think I managed to find it. The issue was seemingly fixed (will have to check though) when I disabled the Statistics plugin. Before disabling it, if I right clicked and copied the link that the image was pointing to, I was directed to a site:

http://www.[mysitehere].com/lib/exe/fetch.php?media=%20[wiki:image.gif]

(my square bracketed changes). Going to that link gave the error message below

Array ( [0] => Array ( [lvl] => error [msg] => DB Error: Table 'myusername_stats.stats_lastseen' doesn't exist REPLACE INTO stats_lastseen SET `user` = 'trinh' [allow] => 0 ) [1] => Array ( [lvl] => error [msg] => DB Error: Table 'myusername_stats.stats_media' doesn't exist INSERT DELAYED INTO stats_media SET dt = NOW(), media = [wiki:image].gif', ip = '163.1.236.106', ua = 'Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_9_4) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/37.0.2062.94 Safari/537.36', ua_info = 'Chrome', ua_type = 'browser', ua_ver = '0.0', os = 'MacOSX', user = 'myusername', session = '1410168693107-6579f2fc069a872b52a529b4155ca714', uid = '1402525135191-23846', size = 891095, mime1 = 'image', mime2 = 'gif', inline = 1 [allow] => 0 ) )

with further warnings. I realized that when upgrading the Statistics plugin, you also need to upgrade the database. There is a snippet of code on the db.sql file for the statistics plugin that you need to copy and paste into the SQL query section of myphpadmin. That did the trick.

Subject: Updating plugins broke all my images
I was upgrading my plugins to the newest version (through the extension manager), and though I'm not sure which plugin was the culprit, all the images on my site which are referenced through the data/media/ folder are broken. In fact, the Media Manager detects all the image files, but gives me a broken image preview as well. Previously, all the images were referenced using the {{ ... }} command.

I can verify through FTP that all my image files are indeed there, so it's not like they're deleted.

Why would updating plugins break Media Manager's ability to see all the images? Any ideas? I've been trying to disable plugins, but no luck.

Subject: Minimum files to run the command line interpreter?
I'm using Donald Merand's doku2html script to change from dokuwiki to html via the Dokuwiki command line interpreter (CLI):
https://www.dokuwiki.org/tips:dokuwiki_parser_cli

This requires the use of both the (CLI) and a dokuwiki directory. However, I'd like to pare down the dokuwiki files to the bare minimum I need to parse the syntax. Is that simple to do? Do you know what files are necessary in order for the CLI to work properly?

Thanks!

Subject: Dokutexit without a local latex installation?
For many weeks and months, now, I'm still searching for an option for my readers to convert my MathJax and Dokuwiki pages to a nice .tex file or pdf on the fly. According to this thread, there is some hope in using the DokuTeXit plugin. However, this requires a local installation of latex, which my shared server host does not provide.

Does anybody know how I might get around this? Someone has suggested something called Common Latex Service Interface, and then using a public CLSI server (does anybody know whether Scribetex server still works?).

Subject: Spoiler plugin has a paragraphing bug
The spoiler plugin seems to have a bug whereby the first paragraph of the hidden content is not properly enclosed in <p> tags. So if you look at the Firebug output, it goes

first paragraph
<p>second paragraph</p>
<p>third paragraph</p>

Can anybody suggest how this is fixed?
