Subject: NAVI PLugin
First off, I would like to thank Andreas Gohr for all the help he gives us peons.

I have been trying to get the Navi (https://www.dokuwiki.org/plugin:navi)  plugin to work on my wiki for a few days now, and I know I am not doing something correctly. Any help would be appreciated.

Can anyone give me an example of how this plugin would give me a collapsible menu in my sidebar? I am confused. Thanks for the help.

I added the {{navi>navigationmenu}} syntax to my sidebar page, and replaced navigationmenu with the pagename that had the list, but it only gave me one page name, not a collapsible list in the sidebar. Sorry if that does not make sense.

I can get more info if it is needed? Thank you.

I also had problems getting navi to work in the sidebar.  I switched to the simplenavi plugin and that worked and did just what I needed. Here is the syntax I used. (data is a folder under my pages folder that I wanted to show in the menu).

  {{simplenavi>data}}

Best Regards
Tom

simplenavi seems to be linked to the namespace structure.
I am especially interested in using a free menu structure as navi offers it (from the docs).

It is working for me. Did you check the FAQ on plugin problems?

Yes, I checked the plugin FAQ: everything looks fine.

The navi directory is in the lib/plugins directory, has the same permissions as the other directories, dito for the files underneath, touched the conf/local.php, used the Ctrl-F5: still the same.

Perhaps I do not understand the usage correctly, that's why I opened an new thread on this.

Many regards

You should add a link to it to make it easier for other people to find: https://forum.dokuwiki.org/thread/10499
