I added mime.local.conf containing a line 'mp4 video/mp4' but I still get the message
Upload denied. This file extension is forbidden!
What is wrong?
The only reason that message can appear is if a mimetype is missing from
mime.conf[/m] and [m]mime.local.conf. Please ignore everything Rene said (except touching config), a potentially wrong server configuration cannot be the cause of this issue.
Everything you did seems to be correct (adding that line into
mime.local.conf[/m]), so I'm not sure what could be wrong. Are you sure you added [m]mime.local.conf[/m] into the correct folder? Are you using a farm or did you change your config cascade in any other way (i.e. are you using [m]inc/preload.php)? In that case, the file would need to go wherever else you have it configured.
