Hi guys,
I am hosting Dokuwiki on an intranet. I have put in some windows share links, linking to folders and some .bat files. When you click on the link in IE, nothing happens. If you right click, copy the shortcut, and paste in Windows Explorer, it correctly takes you launches the file/takes you to the correct folder. I have tried it in both 32 and 64 bit version of IE 8-11 with no luck. Any ideas? Thanks for your help.

Same here. Unfortunately no suggestions, but wanted to make it known that you are not alone with this issue.

Me three. Works prefect when the shortcut is copied and pasted into the addr bar (source view look nice and tidy, too), but clicking on the link from the page? Nothing at all. Tried Winsharemedia plugin, but spaces in file names were replaced with underscores. Out of ideas at this point. This is a problem!

Here's a fix that worked for us: we simply added the urls of our public servers into a list of safe websites in IEs Local Internet zone.
The url addresses for each of our intranet servers were composed thusly: servername.domainname.domaintype. So if your domain name and type are XYZCO.org and your server name was //NAS-1, then the url would be nas-1.xyzco.com. This works even for windows shares that don't have a web server.
After you've made a complete list of all your shared servers, go to the Security tab in Internet options under Tools. Click on Local Internet, then Sites, then Advanced. And then add your urls.
Downside is, this has to be done manually - by the users - for everyone in the company with a workstation who uses our wiki. So we'll write up a Q&D How To doc and broadcast it via email. Oh the pain.
