The locks symbols are displayed in the page tree that is created by "Page Index". ("Seitenindex" in german)
When you click on "Page Index" in the sidebar, the Overview page that is created by dokuwiki is a tree view. Nodes can be opened and closed. Behind the nodes there is this lock symbol. (please see screenshot above).,
I was confused as "Page Index" or "Seitenindex" is not part of the DokuWiki core. From quickly looking through the Vector code, I can see that Vector is using its own, different language for core functionality. In this case it would be the *sitemap*.
But when I open the sitemap in my installation using the Vector template, I cannot see anything which resembles your screenshot. I don't see the [-] and [+] symbols which open and close namespaces, only the standard triangles pointing to the right and below. (It looks the same as on
https://www.dokuwiki.org/dokuwiki?do=index except that the colours of the symbols are different.)
Weird. Maybe it's different because you're using an older version. Did you try updating the template?
